Intern January 2018 – March 2018

I developed a protocol for individual identification of Andean Bears using a human observers approach based on camera trap images.

Intern July 2014 – December 2016

I conducted evaluations of the fur seals reproductive season using historical datasets of tagged animals. I collected data from the field and coordinated volunteers for data management. I also conducted necropsies of stranded marine mammals and seabirds.

I conducted analysis of samples for trophic ecology research of big mammals (Andean bear and Andean tapir). I also managed camera trap’s datasets and identified individual Andean bears.

Professional Intern September 2018 – August 2019

I coordinated and attended meetings with key stakeholders for the development and implementation of bycatch mitigation tools in artisanal and industrial fisheries. I lead the development of the content guide for a workshop about the marine ecosystem basics and sustainable practices oriented to teachers of elementary and high school.

Field Assistant March – December 2017

I tested a new methodology for estimating population parameters with mark-recapture models. I lead the training and mentoring of Peruvian and international volunteers on field techniques and research. I lead the improvement of data collection and systematization. I conducted constant monitoring of marine mammals and seabirds populations. I took part in multiple tagging sessions of pinnipeds.
